Ecolibrium Brazil works with 3 different youth development programs in the beautiful surf town of Itacare, Bahia. We work with an Afro Brazilian cultural program/orphanage with kids aged 8-18, an educational development program with kids 5-12, and a girls self esteem/sexual education organization with females aged 5-18. Volunteers can choose to work with just one group or rotate days between all groups.
Volunteer activities:
- Teaching English, Environmental Education, Geography, Health, Yoga, Art, Math (the sky is the limit)
- Designing and operating a one day- one week kid’s camp
- Green building projects
- Preventative health clinics
- Small business start up support
Accomodations:
The volunteers will stay in clean and standard shared rooms in a house or hostel with breakfast included.
The price per week is $650 dollars and includes: airport pick up and drop off in Ilheus, accommodation, Ecolibrium project manager, one free surf lesson and one free guided hike to one of Brazil’s most famous beaches.
Does not include: Optional activities, international flights, lunch and dinner (these can be prepared as a group in the house or hostal or there are many reasonably prices restaurants), gratuities for guides, and travel insurance (this can be purchased seperately).
Where to fly to: You can fly into Salvador and then take a 5 hour bus ride to Itacare or for a little bit more money you can fly directly into Ilheus. We will help you arrange all of your travel logistics.
