After studying BSc (Hons) International Tourism Management in the UK and travelling extensively around countries such as Bosnia-Hercegovina, Croatia and South Africa I realised that I wanted to work in a company that strives to help the local communities and environments in which it operates, to counter-act poverty and social problems whilst preserving their unique cultures.

During a period working in a small company promoting and spearheading initiatives for sustainable tourism on the Eastern Cape of South Africa, the prospect of developing and promoting sustainable tourism products has been intensified further.

This is why I wanted to work with Ecolibrium, as other tour providers are jumping on the bandwagon of responsible tourism, Ecolibrium has been built around the founding principles of creating opportunities and a genuinely positive environment for the host communities with whom they operate.

My favourite place: Cape Town, South Africa

Most fascinating place I’ve been: Bosnia-Hercegovina

Most Majestic Places: Tara River Canyon, Montenegro. Ordesa, Spain. Budapest, Hungary.

My intention as a yoga instructor is not only to teach students how to get in and out of a posture safely, but more so, to guide a student to get in touch with their breath and listen to the innate wisdom of the body, the interconnectedness of the mind body and spirit, the divinity within.

Certified Yoga Instructor, Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine

I discovered and fell in love with yoga when I moved to Toronto to pursue my passion to study Naturopathic Medicine. Yoga has changed my life in so many ways. I have watched myself unfold! I observe myself living more of my authentic self each day, with each practice, deepening my connection to the life force that runs through everything.

Yoga is so much more than a series of physical postures. It is a way of being in the world – living with awareness and compassion for the environment and each other. My yoga practice changes as I grow and evolve. I will forever continue to practice yoga, teach yoga, live yoga, be yoga ~ united in mind body and spirit, serving from a place of unconditional love and gratitude.

My intention as a yoga instructor is not only to teach students how to get in and out of a posture safely, but more so, to guide a student to get in touch with their breath and listen to the innate wisdom of the body, the interconnectedness of the mind body and spirit, the divinity within. It is my sincere honour as a teacher to be present as students learn from their hearts, emerge as their authentic selves, are humbled by the magnificence of their bodies, dance with the divine, and step off the mat living their yoga in their daily lives and grace the world with their light.

I have spent my whole life searching for a community of like minded, compassionate and loving people. Along my journey, I have been blessed with life long friends through school, athletics, and family, and through great fortune, have found family within the sangha (community of the heart) of yoga communities I have been blessed to be a part of.

I began my yoga practice like many other people, thinking that I needed a good stretch (haha!). My yoga practice at a studio in Toronto provided a physical challenge for my body to change and grow, but also for my mind and heart. There, I was welcomed with open arms into the community and also met the love of my life, a fellow teacher, who has inspired me to continue to follow my heart.

My intention in life is to bring joy and love into others lives while inspiring people to live from their heart.

After completing the inaugural Moksha teacher training in 2004, Jess traveled to France, Trinidad, and Las Vegas to teach and study, combining her passion for yoga and travel.

From her very first hot yoga experience at age 18, yoga has helped Jess Lemon grapple with some of life’s most pressing questions: “Who am I and what am I here to do?” These questions and the thirst for physical, intellectual, and spiritual engagement have led her to many great teachers.

After completing the inaugural Moksha teacher training in 2004, Jess traveled to France, Trinidad, and Las Vegas to teach and study, combining her passion for yoga and travel. She has completed Moksha level 1 and 2 training and has studied with Baron Baptiste, David Robson, Judith Lasater, Frank Jude Boccio and Paula Lynch in various yoga disciplines.

She lives in Toronto but travels frequently for adventure and teaching opportunities. She has an Honor’s Bachelor’s of Arts degree in French Language and Literature from the University of Toronto and though her last name is Lemon, she is actually pretty sweet.

Construct & Conserve is a new, innovative construction company with sustainability as our goal. We strive to be the best in industry by keeping our clients on the leading edge of building design and construction. As a society we have to look at the advantages of green building and integrate these practices now not later. We are here to educate clients, architects, engineers and the building industry as a whole on the effects that conventional construction has on the environment and surrounding communities. As energy prices rise, co2 emissions rise and fossil fuels deplete human beings have to understand that our actions speak 1000 words. We believe that in order to help change and educate an industry that has built the same way for many years, small steps will have to be taken. Construct & Conserve is here to help protect occupant health, improve employee productivity, use our resources more efficiently and reduce the impact our industry has on the environment. We are working with Ecolibrium Sustainable Adventures on a local and international scale. We are designing their Canadian based office to minimize energy consumption. Future collaborations with Ecolibrium include sustainable building projects and workshops in South America. www.constructconserve.com
