Explore Lima, the capital city of Peru and then fly high into the Andes mountains and discover everything the cultural city of Cusco has to offer. Meet locals,visit markets and ancient Incan ruins in the Sacred Valley before heading off on a 4 day hike to uncover the footsteps of the Incans and end up at the famous Machu Picchu. Tons of time for learning to Salsa, and enjoying what the nightlife in Peru has to offer.
Trips will run March 1-11th and a shorter 7 day trip will run March 10-17th.
March 1 /12 Arrive in Lima, Peru. You will be met at the airport and taken to your hotel. Welcome meeting at 7:00 pm
Mar 2/12 Explore Lima Lima Walking city tour of Lima’s historic center with a night out on the town, try a local salsa club
Mar 3/12 Fly to Cusco, spend the afternoon exploring the beautiful ancient town nestled in the Andes.
Mar 4/12 City tour of Cusco bus or hiking. Purchase an entry ticket to many of Cuzco’s fascinating attractions – it’ll be easy to go exploring here. Head out to see the archaeological sites of Saqsayhuaman, Qenqo and Tambomachay, all of which are located just on the outskirts of town.
Mar 5/12 Optional Sacred Valley tour. Visit famous Peruvian markets, and sacred Incan sites
Mar 6rh-8th/12 Inca Trail Camping Day 4‐6 – Inca Trail (3B,3L,3D). Spend 4 days and 3 nights hiking the famous Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. you will start your walk at Km82. During this trek you will climb the Andes, pass through the cloudforest and vist many archaeological sites along the way. Ending up at Machu Picchu, the most preserved Incan site
Mar 9/12 Machu Picchu/Cusco. This will be the last day of hiking. Rise early to hike to the Sun Gate. If weather is clear you will see your first view of Machu Picchu. There will be a 3 hour tour of Machu Picchu with time to climb Winay Wayna. Take an afternoon train back to Cusco. Big celebratory dinner and night on the town.
Mar 10/12 Flight to Lima Lima Enjoy your last morning in the Andes! Fly to Lima and enjoy your farewell dinner in trendy Miraflores
Mar 11/12 Departure Day Check out time is 12:00
